<Notes>
<DescriptionText><text>
Calibrating a punch means to drive it to the bottom of its travel and have
it stop there. This aids installers during punch alignment procedures. Since
there is no 'punch down' sensor it is necessary estimate, by elapsed time,
the approximate position of the punch. It takes slightly longer to move a
punch to its down position than to simply active a punch cycle since the
full cycle time must first be determined. However it should take no more
than about 10 seconds to move a punch to its bottom position.

<DescriptionText><text>
When calibration of punch(es) is complete a 'punch init' command is required to
bring the punches back home and the ready the punch system to resume normal
operation. Attempts to perform other operations before first initializing will
result in command failure accompanied by an 'initialization required' message.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
Some punches may have 'alternate' locations set by air pistons. The calibration
operation makes no provision for this. It simply drives punch(es) to their
bottom position regardless of present location. It is up to installers to
ensure they have set punched to required locations beforehand.
